Did I mention the screaming child?

So I forgot to add some things I did the past few weeks. Another experience I had was pounding shit. Yes. That is correct. The only word that the school children seem to know for feces is shit. Therefore, when I teach, I only get to say that word, and I get to talk about shit for the next two years. Anyways, the way the people make their compounds is using pebbles and water. So we get involved and into the dancing they got going on while pounding the ground. Come to find out when they pour the water, the added shit to it. Great. Covered in splashes of shit all over the place. How many times can I fit that word in? As many as possible, I think.
We also spent some time on the side of a hill. It had a great view, so we stopped to take some photos. With kids all over, we thought it was a great opportunity to hang out. Ten minutes later, these two guys roll up on a bike and start demanding money. Our trainer and another volunteer fought it, of course, because no one owns the rocks, and the men threatened to have us stoned by the kids that were so excited to hang out with white people. We laughed and left, of course, but not before they continued to insult us just because we were white. In our defense, there was no where that said we would have to pay, and no one owns the rocks. It was public domain! Crazy people. In the end, our trainer resolved the issue, of course. He is just that cool. Everyone ended up leaving on good terms. Something that would NOT happen in the US. I do not understand how, but that was pretty cool!

On the way back to homestay yesterday, we stopped at some waterfall. It was so beautiful. We actually got to get in the water (if I get Schisto, that would be why).

Some things I really hope never stop shocking me. It is still funny to see goats on top of things, like benches and on trees. Kids running to warn their younger sibling that an 'obruni' was coming into their compound and trying to shield their eyes so they don't inevitably run around the compound screaming and cryin at the top of their lungs in terror. Seeing an albino- looks orbuni with all black features, total gangster in my books. A live pig in a box, it's owner trying to get it and him on an already full troutrou. The fact that you can eat yourself into a coma on only like 70 cents of food. Man, I love it here.
