Books I have read while in Ghana... could you tell I am bored?

I was not going to write a blog entry. I do not really have anything to talk about. I have not been doing much these past couple of weeks. But then I thought I would impress you all (if you know how slow of a reader I am, you would be impressed). I have finished nine books in three months! Yup. That is right. For me, that is A LOT A LOT.
Here they are:

The Age of Zeus. Not a very good book. It was predictable and tried too hard to be a great book. It suffered for it.

No Touch Monkey. Excellent account on Ayun Halliday's adventures. Let me tell you, she made me jealous. Wow the things she has done! Thanks Sarah, I thoroughly enjoyed that book!

Amsterdam. Another great book. It was depressing. Reminded me, for some reason, of Atonement. I have no idea why. I would read it again. It is about these two guys that had a love affair with this woman that had just died. Very good. It kept me entertained.

Interview with the Vampire. Oh Ann Rice. Too bad you are a woman. It was hard to believe that the story was being told from a man's perspective. He had way too much emotion. But, I guess after being centuries old and tormenting yourself the whole time, anyone would be that depressing. If it was a woman vampire, it would have been more believable. Great book though. I would read the others, but I do not own them.

Dead Until Dark. The first of the True Blood (TV series) books. It was great. Could you tell I like the Vampire books? I will start reading the others on my Kindle (love that thing). I was just curious about the TV series when I left. Season Three was starting and I did not know how it was gonig to turn out. So I figured the books would be better anyway. Totally different, but good. Glad I bought them.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Weird title. Even weirder book. I do not even know what it was about, really. It had no climax. It kept me entertained. I think it was more of a philisophical book. Anyone hear of that one? Weird, right?

Into Thin Air. An account of the Mount Everst Disaster. Or one of them. This I read during training. It was amazing. For some reason, I want to at least make it to the camp site. I do not have to climb it (because I would be afraid I would not make it) but I would like to see the base. What empowers these people to take on that risk?! The mountain calls to them, I guess.

The Kite Runner. For those of you who have read that, you know. It is amazing. Depressing. I was afraid it was going to be antimilitary, but it had nothing to do with that. It definetly gave you a glance on the other side though. Man. That was tough to digest.

A Thousand Splendid Suns. Same author. This was from the women's side though, whereas the Kite Runner was the men's. I heard this one was better, but I do not know. I think I might like the Kite Runner more. This one ended happily, which was great, whereas the Kite Runner had more of a realistic ending (happy, but with many obstacles left).

Next on the list of books: Eat, Pray, Love in paperback and the True Blood series on my Kindle. I like to read more than one book at a time, besides, I can not have my kindle outside of my house. Anyone have any other suggestions? I still have the new Dan Brown book on my Kindle too.
